Aims and Objectives

“must seek to secure and sustain deep parental participation in the life and work of the school, and in particular in its government, in the formulation of its policy, in the creation of a working partnership with the teaching staff, and the promotion of good relations with the local community”
The purpose of North Coast Parents’Fourm:
• Welcome new parents to the College
• Encourage parental involvement in the life of the College
• Foster relationships between the College and its local community
• Organise activities which support and provide resources for the College
• Promote North Coast IC as an integrated all-ability, co-educational College
• Support the teachers and staff
How can you make a difference?
There are many ways in which you can contribute to the Parents’ Fourm:
• Attendance at Forum meetings which are held monthly
• Attendance at College events
• Use your skills/experience to contribute in a specialised way to the school community
• Support fundraising activities
The Parents Forum is interested in establishing teams of parents as “community partners” who can assist in the development of community links, educational visits, guest speakers and issues of interest to the wider school community.

Who’s who in the Parents’
Forum?
Lesley
Macaulay – Chairperson
Lesley is the Chairperson of the Parents’ Forum. Lesley has two daughters at the College and
she is passionate about integrated education.
Lesley is an independent consultant and has worked in the voluntary and
community sector for over twenty years.
LeahAnne
Dollard – Vice Chairperson
LeahAnne has one daughter at the College. LeahAnne is a member of staff at the
College. She was Chairperson of her
local Community Association for two years and also sits on the Board of
Governors at Harpurs Hill Primary.
Doreen
Bacon – Parent/Governor Representative
Doreen has two children at the College and has been a member of the
Board of Governors for two years. Doreen
works as a manager in the Northern Health and Social Care Trust.
Laverne
Kennedy – Secretary
Laverne has two sons at the College. Laverne has been actively involved in the
Parent Teacher Association while her sons were in Primary School. Laverne is employed as a secretary at the
Causeway Hospital.
Aine
Toman – Teacher Representative
Aine is a member of the teaching staff at the College. Aine is the Parents’ Forum link officer,
working to ensure that all stakeholders have a say in decision making in the
College.
Hazel
Scott – Parent
Hazel is a recent member to the forum and she has one daughter in
the College.
Angela
Biesty – Parent
Angela has two daughters at the
College. Angela along with her husband owns a local business in the
Ballymoney area.
Colin R Bredin – Parent
Colin has one daughter at the
College who started year 8 in 2010. Colin works as a Transport Manager
for a large UK based Distribution Company and is a very committed to Integrated
Education.
Meetings are held monthly in
the College and all new members are welcomed!
