Cheque Presentation at North Coast Integrated College

Gemma Hill from the Integrated Education Fund visited the College this morning for assembly. Year 12 students presented Mrs Hill with a cheque on behalf of the whole student body. £ 250 was raised for the IEF as a result of the recent ‘wear a hoodie to school’ day.

Great Results for NCIC Pupils at Portstewart Music Festival

Year 10 pupil, Courtney came joint second along with year 11 pupil, Grace in the Musical Theatre category. Year 8 pupil Mollie –Jane took third place in this same category. Twins, Courtney and Brooke came first in the Vocal Duet category. Year 8 pupil Travis came second in Woodwind Solo Grades 3-4 and 2nd place in Descant Recorder. His sister Robyn in year 9, came third in Woodwind Solo Grades 3-4. The siblings went on to claim first place in the Instrumnetal Trio category. Fellow year 9 pupil Lucy took third place in Violin Solo Grade 3 Congratulation also go to year 8 pupils, Steven who achieved first place in Beginner Guitar and Millie who came second in Beginner Violin. League Winners at North Coast Integrated College

Well done to the Under 14 Netball Team who won the final of the local secondary schools’ league. Congratulations go to all of the players with a special mention for Player of the Match and Captain, Zara McMullan.

From China to Coleraine

North Coast Integrated College says a fond farewell to exchange students Michael, Selina, George and Steven. After having spent the last few weeks at the College, they are returning home to their native China. We wish them all the very best; it was a privilege to have them with us. The exchange students are pictured here with some of their fellow classmates.

International Women’s Day

Year 10 pupils travelled to Ballymoney High School on Thursday 8th March to attend an event to celebrate International Women’s Day. The event which comprised of a series of workshops, highlighted women’s achievements, contributions to society and explored relevant issues. This event was organised in partnership with the Education Authority Youth Service.

STEM Module at NCIC

The STEM Module visited the College on Tuesday 6th February. Sixth form students studying BTEC Applied Science took part in an investigation of ‘Thin Layer Chromatography of Amino Acids’. This area forms part of their studies and, as such, was incredibly valuable for all concerned.

Shakespeare at NCIC

The English Department at North Coast Integrated College hosted an exhibition about Shakespeare, which had been generously on loan from the British Council and Queens University. The Students had the wonderful opportunity to view this exhibition in their English classes.

Robotics at North Coast Integrated College

On Tuesday 223rd January, Joanne Sweeney from Sentinus spent the day at the College to deliver a robotics workshop to year 8 students. Joanne is picture here with year 8 pupils, Reagan, Demi, Rihanna and Daniel.

Charitable Deeds at NCIC

Seana O’Neill, representative for the charity Children in Crossfire, visited the College on Monday 22nd January to receive a donation. Pupils raised £303 for the charity from a recent non-uniform day. Holly and Tiernagh presented Seana with the cheque at morning assembly.
