North Coast Integrated College in the Community

Christmas is coming and preparations are underway for our Christmas Fair on Thursday 6th December. However, we know that people in our own community need support at this time of year and all year round. With this in mind, some of our sixth year students gladly volunteered to work at one of our local food banks today at Tesco #itistheseasonforgivingandcaringforoneanother #successfultogether

Ireland v USA rugby match

On Saturday 24th of November the NCIC PE department took 17 pupils from year 10 and 11 to the Aviva stadium in Dublin to watch the Ireland V USA rugby match. The trip was a part of the Causeway coast and Glen’s Peace IV partnership which offers a range of sporting, cultural and leisure opportunities for children and young people. The trip was a huge success and hopefully will be the first of many more to come in the future. Below are a few pictures from the trip:

Climbing Club

The climbing wall at NCIC has never been busier. There is a weekly climbing club afterschool every Thursday from 3.15- 4.15, available to all years and has already had over 30 different pupils coming along since September. Climbing has joined the list of sports that will be on show at the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo and in the spirit of this we decided to run a speed climbing competition last Thursday with Andrew Corner in year 11 setting a new wall record of climbing the wall in just 6 seconds. If you think you have a chance of beating this time, come down this Thursday to give it ago. The school is also opening its wall on a Wednesday evening to members of the local community from 6-8pm fo

Our Lady of Lourdes Match Report

Today’s match against OLOL was a huge learning experience for the team. This match, being the first time some of the boys had played together, meant that from kick-off we were at a disadvantage. During the early stages of the game, it was clear that nerves were present amongst the squad. Our initial plan of playing with three at the back was quickly changed once we realised the quality present in the opposition’s attacking line. Despite all of this, the boys soon settled into the game and found their feet. During the first half the boys played well defensively, although there was very little to offer when going forward as we were too tentative in our approach. We were perhaps lucky that at h

Ballymoney Match Report

Match report- NCIC 3- 3 Ballymoney high school Friday 16-11-2018 Last Friday the U14 football team battled to a hard earned point against Ballymoney high school away. The forecast carried yellow weather warnings but the only storm in the first half was brought by the NCIC players. Lewis Stevenson was lightning quick on the wing and put us ahead with a beautiful goal, coming in off the wide position and latching on to a perfectly weighted ball played by the front man, Daniel Greer who held the ball up superbly throughout the first half. After taking the lead NCIC looked comfortable, passing the ball well in midfield and controlling the game through good movement, passing and communication fro
