North Coast Integrated College hosted a successful NEBSSA Year 8 and 9 camogie blitz on Thursday 20th June at Eoghan Rua GAC clubrooms which was ably organised by Head of PE, Mrs McGarry. Year 8 and 9 pupils from a number of NEBSSA schools attended along with the host school, North Coast Integrated College where they had a busy day developing their camogie skills. All pupils had the opportunity to display these skills in the camogie games in the afternoon. The respective group matches were played in a competitive spirit and Dominican College ran out successful winners in both year groups. Thanks to Alison Park who in her capacity as Chairperson of NEBSSA presented the trophies to the winning captains and medals were also presented to both runner up teams.
Thanks to Eoghan Rua GAC for the use of their facilities, a special thanks also to club groundkeeper, Brian Daly and Gerry McAleese for opening up and setting out the pitches.
Congratulations to all the girls who took part especially those who had never played camogie competitively before as they showed great heart and determination. Special congratulations to our Year 8 pupils, two of whom were selected by the referees on the day as the most improved players.
