Dear Parents and Guardians,

We have planned a Year 8 school trip that promises to be both educational and enjoyable for our students. We have organised a joint excursion to Derry/ Londonderry for our students, and students from Dunluce School and Coleraine College.

Trip Details:

  • Date: Thursday 29th May

  • Departure Time: 9:15am

  • Return Time: 3:00pm

  • Destination: Londonderry/Derry, with drop-off at Ebrington

The trip will begin with a bus ride from our school to Ebrington in Derry/Londonderry. Upon arrival, the students will embark on a walk across the iconic Peace Bridge, followed by a guided tour of the historic walls of Derry/Londonderry. Pupils will also visit the Tower Museum. This outing offers a unique opportunity for our pupils to not only learn about the rich history of our area but also to interact and have fun with students from Dunluce School and Coleraine College.

Purpose of the Trip:

  • To provide an educational experience that enhances students' understanding of local history.

  • To promote social interaction and foster new friendships among pupils from the three participating schools.

  • To encourage a sense of community and shared learning experiences.

Important Information:

·       Attire: Students should wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking.

·       Lunch: We will provide lunch, but a few snacks might be appreciated!

·       Weather: As the trip involves outdoor activities, please ensure your child is prepared for the weather conditions (e.g., a raincoat if rain is forecasted).

Any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Yours sincerely

Mrs A Mc Garry ( Head of Year 8)
